As the proprietors of Whitestrand Boat Hire, we have been established for a great many years and are renowned for our professional service and high standards. Hiring a self-drive boat is made easy by our courteous and friendly staff. They run through every aspect of driving the boats, will make sure you are confident to drive the boat yourself and will meet you at the pontoon on your return. All the boats are supplied with safety equipment, lifejackets and a map of the estuary and are checked and licenced by the Harbour office. So, whether you want to land on a beach, explore the beautiful creeks or visit the local pubs, nothing could be more simple. If you feel like trying your hand at fishing within the estuary, we can hire you fishing tackle with the boats and provide you with live or frozen bait and even point you in the right direction for catching fish. We have a variety of boats to suit all your needs and these can be taken out for as little as an hour to a week or more if you wish! For those of you who would prefer to be driven, we have larger boats that will take you on an hour long guided tour of the estuary. THE BOATS... there are 4 types available depending upon your requirements: Orkney Spinners: 13ft fibreglass boats, licensed to carry 6 persons. Orkney & Dell Quay Dories: 13ft open, very stable fibreglass boats with steering wheel, fitted with large engines. Licensed to carry 6 persons. Dell Quay Eurosport Dory: 15ft luxury Dory fitted with 30hp engines, licensed to carry 8 persons. Fastliner: 16ft boats, either open or with a cabin. Ideal for lively youngsters and licensed to carry up to 10 persons.
