A web application is simply a web site that does something other than display fixed pages. To put it another way, it is a software program that runs on a web server. At its most simple it is a program to E-mail you the the information a customer submits in an enquiry form on you site. A more complex application would be an online store that checks stock, accepts payments and arranges the shipping of your product to a customer. Recently we, and our partner software designers, have worked on a hotel booking system for a major Hotel 'portal' web site that handles the online bookings for hundreds of small hotels and B&Bs. Another commercial project has been an E-Commerce site for a Canadian software company. In the public sector, we have delivered a knowledge base to the Warship Support Agency that provides up to date engineering information to desktops throughout the Ministry of Defence.

We have produced a total solution for a parts distributor which has reduced the number of systems his sales staff need to use from three to one and his major account customers can now order directly from his stock online. We have also worked on a 'Workflow' application for a major defence contractor.
